About THis Project

HGAPS has been involved with two projects that are themed around 13 Reasons Why. Our first project was a page on Wikiversity that broke down each episode of the 13 Reasons Why Netflix series, identified mental health themes (e.g. bullying, suicide, sexual assault), and provided resources for each theme.

The second project themed around 13 Reasons Why involved creating vignettes for the characters of 13 Reasons Why. Vignettes are educational tools that describe a patient's mental illness profile, and how they are diagnosed and treated. HGAPS cared deeply about the Open Teaching of Psychological Science initiative, which aims to take teaching resources and make them available to a wider audience of psychology students. This accessible resource aims to help promote evidence-based assessment for clinicians and students. We have so far created one vignette for the show's main character, Hannah Baker. This vignette deals with themes of suicide, depression, bullying, sexual assault, and trauma.
